It's a bit of a waste, it almost makes me feel like I wasn't even involved even though I was the person taking the photos. I've gone through holiday albums I've taken in recent years and literally none of them have me in them. Ultimately, photos provide great memories of things that have happened in your life and a good reminder of the part you played in them. It's good to get snaps of yourself now and again anyway, if not for yourself then for friends or family that do want to see you. That said, if you want to advertise yourself on a dating site, you're going to need good, recent photos of yourself. I feel that selfies are narcissistic and asking friends to randomly take shots of myself is a bit vain.
